After their chilling horror break-out Goodnight Mommy, directors Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala jumped quickly into their English-language debut and brought Riley Keough along for the terrifying ride. The Lodge, which premiered at Sundance this year and will arrive this fall via NEON, has now released its first trailer online after floating around in theaters the last few weeks.
Jake Howell said in his review, “Comparisons to Ari Aster’s Hereditary are legitimate from pretty much the opening scene of The Lodge, Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz’s follow-up to Goodnight Mommy that mixes fanatic Christianity and a snowbound setting for a slow-burning freakshow. Fortunately, despite these many similarities, The Lodge successfully deviates by its chilling finale into something all its own.”
Also starring Jaeden Lieberher, Lia McHugh, Alicia Silverstone, and Richard Armitage, see the trailer and poster below.
The Lodge opens this fall.
