Earlier today director Jon Favreau tweeted that the first poster for Iron Man 2 would be unvieled today. He did not lie my friends. Paramount has debuted the first teaser poster over at Yahoo. In the poster we get a heavy look at War Machine, played by Don Cheadle (who replaced Terrence Howard as Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes). We should also be getting a new trailer before Sherlock Holmes this Christmas. Check out the poster below.
Another news story broke today regarding Downey Jr.’s influence on the screenplay for Iron Man 2. In an interview with Empire Magazine (via WENN Yahoo) director Jon Favreau said:
Robert is a real partner in the process. He’s been very involved in the screenplay. When he went away to do Sherlock Holmes he was still part of our creative process. Even in the first film, where he was originally a hired gun playing the role, he really stepped up to rewrite scenes – he’s a great writer, too. So we really are sharing the responsibilities.
I love the poster and didn’t know War Machine had such a big part in the film, very much looking forward to that. In other news I’m interested to see what kind of stuff Downey helped with script-wise. Some of his quips from the first film seem very natural, so I can only assume that it’s similar here. As long as it doesn’t turn out like Edward Norton‘s “help” with The Incredible Hulk script, I’m all for it.
