The first trailer has arrived for David Frankel‘s (The Devil Wears Prada) star-studded, end-of-the-year drama Collateral Beauty. The Marley & Me helmer’s latest feature follows a “tragic event” that sends an ad man (Will Smith) on a downward spiral. In other words, the catalyst of the story starts the protagonist on a journey, leading him to discovery and change.
Around Smith is a collection of top-tier talent, including Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, and Michael Pena, who round out the dramatic, rousing, and potentially heartbreaking saga. See the trailer below, for the film that also stars Naomi Harris, Enrique Murciano, Kyle Rogers, and Natalie Gold.
When a successful New York ad executive suffers a personal tragedy and retreats from life, his friends devise a drastic plan to reach him before he loses everything. Pushing him to the very edge, they force him to confront the truth in surprising and profoundly human ways. From Oscar-winning director David Frankel, this thought-provoking drama explores how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of beauty, and how the constants of love, time and death interlock in a life fully lived.
Collateral Beauty opens December 16th.
