Chopped up in bits and pieces in the trailers, we’ve gotten somewhat of a sense for how the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer plan to handle their sprawling adaptation of Cloud Atlas. But knowing their structure is very different from the original source material, we’ve know got the best sense yet of how these multiple storylines will be put together.
Bleeding Cool uncovered our first clip which is bookended by scenes from Tom Hanks, also serving as narrator, and in between we get brief glimpses of Halle Berry, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent and more. It’s actually more chopped up than I would have imagined, but I find it remarkable, especially if they can sustain this for over two-and-a-half hours. And judging from our very positive take at Toronto, they indeed succeed. Check out the clip below.
Synopsis:
