My favorite film of 2010, Gaspar Noe’s audacious and epic masterpiece Enter the Void is getting the re-release treatment from IFC Films. Restoring an additional 20 minutes of footage that American audiences never had the privilege of seeing first time around, the uncut or director’s cut screened theatrically in Noe’s home country of France and at its premiere during the 2010 Cannes film festival. A truncated version of the film was released in September by IFC on VOD and in New York, where it continues to be featured at the IFC Center.
The alternate version will screen through January 14-20th at the IFC center in New York but it’s unclear if this unedited cut will also be featured in the US blu-ray release of the film, slated for January 25th. The French releases of the film on DVD and blu-ray came in three different configurations, including the amazing ultimate-edition which features both cuts of the film and a bevy of extra features including a fold out poster. No word on if a version like that will be released here in the US, but hopefully all us Noe fans stateside get a chance to experience the film as it was originally intended.
Do you want the Ultimate Edition version of Enter the Void released in the US?
