Takeshi ‘Beat’ Kitano is quite the renaissance man, full of experiences that define a pretty interesting and diverse artistic life. According to his wikipedia page, he’s been credited as a filmmaker, comedian, actor, film editor, presenter, screenwriter, author, poet, painter, and one-time video game designer!
He’s also one of my favorite import Japanese filmmaker whose wide range of work goes from the ultra violent Yakuza tales Boiling Point and Violent Cop to more serene meditative films tinged with subtle humor, such as Kikujuro and A Scene at the Sea. His new directorial work, Outrage, is set to premiere at Cannes in a few weeks and a new trailer has hit the web, showcasing the film as a return to his gangster roots.
What do you think of the Outrage trailer?
