Variety is reporting that Robert De Niro will be starring alongside Bradley Cooper in Neil Burger‘s suspense thriller The Dark Fields. The film follows a “a down-and-out Gotham writer (Cooper) who comes into possession of a designer drug that gives him newfound intelligence and success. De Niro will play a brilliant financial mogul who begins pursuing Cooper’s character.”
Neil Burger also directed The Illusionist, starring Edward Norton, which coincidentally is starring in Stone with De Niro, coming out in May. De Niro also has Little Fockers coming December and Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete, which should be coming out quite soon, but we haven’t seen much from it.
The Dark Fields starts shooting in Philadelphia this May and will be distributed by Universal.
