After finding international acclaim with Blue is the Warmest Color and A Prophet, respectively, Léa Seydoux and Tahar Rahim have teamed for a romantic-tinged drama, Grand Central. Initially premiering at Cannes Film Festival the same year as Seydoux’s Palme d’Or winner, Rebecca Zlotowski‘s feature will be making its way to U.K. theaters this month and a new trailer has dropped for the occasion.
The project follows Rahim as an employee at a nuclear power plant and bonds with one of his co-workers, but soon falls in love with his wife (Seydoux). Receiving mostly favorable reviews during its festival run, it has yet to secure U.S. distribution, but hopefully that’s coming shortly. In the meantime, check out the trailer below thanks to Studio Canal.
Gary is young, agile, a quick learner. He’s one of those who’s never been promised anything. After a succession of odd jobs, he’s taken on at a nuclear power plant. There, amongst the reactors and their high doses of radioactivity, he finally finds what he’s been looking for: money, a team, a family. But the team also includes Karole, Toni’s wife, with whom he falls in love. Forbidden love and radiation slowly contaminate Gary. Each day is menacing.
Grand Central hits U.K. theaters on July 18th.
