After premiering on the festival circuit last fall, it’s a bit discouraging that the latest film from Terry Gilliam, the futuristic drama The Zero Theorem, has yet to acquire U.S. distribution, but hopefully the release of a new trailer will garner some attention from interested parties.
Following a leaked trailer and early clips, Voltage Pictures have dropped the first official trailer for the film, which stars Christoph Waltz as a computer genius who reflects on his very being. It looks like another vibrant, eccentric work from the helmer and one check it out below (along with a behind-the-scenes still) for the film also starring David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, Lucas Hedges, Ben Whishaw, Peter Stormare, and Tilda Swinton.
An eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence – or the lack thereof -once and for all. However, it is only once he experiences the power of love and desire that he is able to understand his very reason for being.
The Zero Theorem is awaiting U.S. distribution.
