Buried has been a hit with the critics, but thanks to a bad geographic location and poor box office, I wasn’t able to catch the Ryan Reynolds thriller during its limited run. The movie’s writer, Chris Sparling, incidentally has a new movie coming out. This one is titled ATM and stars Alice Eve and Josh Peck. For younger folks, Peck is probably best known for his role as Josh on Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh, but he’s actually proven himself to be a capable actor in movies like The Wackness and Mean Creek. Eve…well, she’s pretty at least right? The first image of ATM has popped up on the internet, and you can check it out below (thanks to Adam Chitwood at Collider):
Ominous, don’t you think? Kind of looks like The Joker’s handwriting on the “Why So Serious?” posters for The Dark Knight. Chitwood also got his hands on a brief synopsis for the film, and it’s at follows:
Three co-workers end up in a desperate fight for survival when they become trapped by a psychotic killer.
That simple line does not give much information about ATM, but I’m a sucker for movies about psychotic killers, so I’m intrigued by this. I’m sure if I was lucky enough to see Buried I would be even more excited.
Although there is not much to go on besides an ominous picture and a one sentence synopsis, do you have any gut reactions to ATM either pertaining to its plot or to its cast?
