It was recently announced that Woody Allen‘s upcoming film You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, starring Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, and Freida Pinto, would be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival next month en route to its release on September 23. But the buzz has quickly shifted to Allen‘s next project, which has been surrounded by mystery ever since Allen revealed the Paris setting and nothing else.
First Showing reports that this film will be titled Midnight in Paris, and that it will feature another impressive cast in the form of Marion Cotillard, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen, Nina Arianda, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy, Kurt Fuller, and perhaps even a cameo from France’s first lady Carla Bruni.
The film is being labeled as a romantic comedy that follows a family who travels to France for business. It also reportedly features a subplot revolving around a young engaged couple and how their lives change as a result of this family’s visit. The announcement itself briefly described the film as follows:
The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better.
This is certainly sounds like an intriguing undergoing for Allen, but are we getting a bit ahead of ourselves?
Should we be thinking about Midnight in Paris when You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger hasn’t even been released yet?
