entourage

Variety‘s early review of the series’ season six opener suggests as much. The magazine’s Brian Lowry writes: “…the focus has shifted mostly to the love life of his manager Eric (Kevin Connolly), who’s still understandably pining for old g.f. Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui). Meanwhile, super-agent Ari (Jeremy Piven) has to deal with management issues…”

Apparently Vince is no longer the center of attention, as the rest of the “entourage” are experiencing considerable levels of success. Variety deems this sea-changing first episode “gets off to a rather plodding start.”

While this may be true, it’s nice to hear the show is taking its narrative in a new direction, shifting the character focus. It’s even nicer to hear they’ll be bringing Emanuelle Chriqui back as Sloan, who may be the most beautiful actress on the face of the planet (and not too bad at acting either).

And isn’t that why we all watch the show anyway? To see the most beautiful people on the planet play with the most glamorous toys in the world? And every once and a while, there’s some biting Hollywood satire.

What do you think? Has Entourage run its course? Or are you excited about this new season and new direction?
