Just after James Gandolfini‘s presence was let out of the bag, Sony has also revealed a new trailer for Kathryn Bigelow‘s follow-up to her Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty. Teaming again with screenwriter Mark Boal, the war drama unearths the secretive mission that ended in the capture of Osama bin Laden. For those expecting any big reveals this time around, the trailer shows a wealth of new footage, but seemingly only from the first act.
Introducing our main characters one by one, it seems like Jessica Chastain has the biggest role, while we also get our first look at Édgar Ramírez, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler, Nash Edgerton and more. One of the actors I was most curious about, Parks and Recreation‘s Chris Pratt also gets a few speaking lines and looks surprisingly fitting in his military role. Again, there isn’t much revealed here, but the trailer does everything it needs to: increase my interest even more for what will likely be the most talked about film of the year.
