While doing press for his latest film, the hotly anticipated comedy Due Date, Robert Downey Jr. dropped some surprising news about his co-star Zach Galifianakis. According to Downey, the bearded comedian will be appearing in the Jason Segel Muppet movie, previously titled The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made. In the clip, Galifianakis looks annoyed, which may be because the actor hasn’t signed yet, or maybe the role was intended as a surprise cameo. Galifianakis isn’t talking to the press, but his manager says he is “talking about” joining the project. It wouldn’t be his first experience with the Muppets. Lest you forgot:

As we reported previously, the untitled Muppet movie has already lined up an exciting cast that includes Jason Segel, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, and Amy Adams. Galifianakis, with his heralded offbeat humor, would be a great addition to the Muppet mania.

Please, movie gods, make this happen!

Would you like to see Galifianakis to join the Muppet movie cast?
