Cinemablend recently debuted the trailer for the upcoming comedy You Again starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver and Betty White. The plot centers around a young woman (Bell) whose brother becomes engaged to her high school nemesis. Their rivalry is revealed to be generational when Curtis (who plays Bell’s mother) meets the aunt of the bride (Weaver) who she feuded with as a teen. The women must come to terms with their rivalries during the preparation for the wedding. White, who recently starred in another wedding comedy The Proposal, plays Bell’s grandmother.
Although this film appears to be typical safe (it is being released by Disney, after all), the pairing of cinematic icons Curtis (Halloween) and Weaver (Alien) seems to have produced hysterical results. Both of these actresses excel at comedy and have been put to great effect in Disney comedies this past decade. It is also great to see White’s career on the upswing since the renewed interest in her after The Proposal. You can catch White hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend.
