Abraham Lincoln, Jackie Onassis, George Gershwin and… Time Travel? Steven Spielberg seems to be swimming in a sea of projects in-development, which is certainly no new territory for him, and a certain time travel film dubbed Interstellar has been on his radar for upwards of 3 years. However, The Playlist reports via Vulture that the Johnathan Nolan penned flick might be coming to fruition.
According to The Playlist, Nolan just switched agencies, and has now teamed up with WME, who appears to be banking on his recent successes (remember The Dark Knight?), not to mention his possible/probable future ones (Batman 3, Superman). Nolan’s work has been consistently good thus far, which already makes Interstellar appealing, but should the film take off, we all know that a Spielberg/Nolan team-up should be nothing short of awesome – and clearly WME does as well.
Originally crafted by theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, the treatment “reportedly explores ideas of wormholes, other dimensions and time travel.” I do love myself some good Spielberg Sci-Fi, so time travel and/or parallel dimensions should be quite an interesting road to see him go down. Maybe that climax of Indy 4 rubbed off.
What do you think? Is a Spielberg/Nolan collaboration a surefire success to bank on, or is WME hedging their bets with the talented screenwriter? Sound off.
