No return to high-budget Land of the Lost or wide appeal Step Brothers for Will Ferrell’s next project. Instead, as reported by Variety, he will star in Everything Must Go. The independently financed film will be the directorial debut for commercial director Dan Rush. In the film written by Rush from a Raymond Carver short story Ferrell will “play a guy who loses his job and gets locked out of the house by his wife. She deposits his belongings on the front lawn, and he spends the next four days trying to sell his possessions.”
The 110 page script was high on the 2008 Black List so hopefully it delivers. You can download the script here thanks to Script Shadow. Looks like it is time to read it. I enjoyed Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction, his last low-budget effort. I’ll definitely keep this on the radar.
Have you read the script? What do you think of Ferrell for the role?
