With the conclusion of Berlinale 2014, the latest major film festival, the jury has decided on its winners. Made up of James Schamus (President), Barbara Broccoli, Trine Dyrholm, Mitra Farahani, Greta Gerwig, Michel Gondry and Christoph Waltz, they gave Diao Yinan the top prize of Golden Bear for Black Coal, Thin Ice, while The Grand Budapest Hotel received the runner-up. Richard Linklater nabbed Best Director for his stellar work on Boyhood, while Alain Resnais received the Alfred Bauer Prize for a feature film that opens new perspectives, for his Life of Riley.
