Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera and the boys proved that they can still provide huge success on the big screen, as their third installment to the franchise Jackass 3-D dominated its opening weekend. It brought in an estimated $50 million dollars, the highest opening for the series so far and also the highest October opening weekend ever.

It easily beat out the action comedy Red, which had a mildly impressive weekend on its own, earning $22.5 million. The Social Network fell from first to third in its third weekend, bringing in an additional $11 million. It has now grossed just over $63 million.

Clint EastwoodHereafter opened in 6 theaters this weekend, earning $231,000, an average of $38,000 per theater. Expect big gains after the wider release next weekend.

Hereafter‘s expansion will face touted horror sequel Paranormal Activity 2. I expect Hereafter to have a formidable showing and will take most of the cash from the weekend, with the latter in a distant second.
