Taking in a gigantic $645 million worldwide in just two weeks, Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Dark of the Moon stayed at #1 at the box office taking in $47m domestically. After Bridesmaids and The Hangover: Part II, Horrible Bosses continues the strong of R-rated comedy success, bringing in an impressive $28.1m in its debut weekend.

Also debuting was Kevin JamesZookeeper with $21m. This was about $10m less than its pseudo-predecessor Paul Blart: Mall Cop. We’ll have to see if it reaches the almost $150m domestic total of that 2009 film. Cars 2 dipped 42.1% to take in $15.2m and almost reaching the $150m mark. Bad Teacher and Super 8 continue to have small drops of 38% and 39.1% making $9m and $4.82m, respectively.

In limited release Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest made $120k from 4 theaters, while Fox Searchlight halted the wide release of The Tree of Life, only making $770,000 in 237 theaters. Doing much better the overseas, the film has reached almost $30m worldwide.

Next week sees the release of the final film in the biggest franchise of our generation, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Disney will also release Winnie the Pooh, while Life, Above All, Daylight, Salvation Boulevard,
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
and Tabloid all get limited releases.
