The Warner Brothers remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street dominated the weekend box office, pulling in an estimated $32.2 million. It silenced the impressive six week run of How To Train Your Dragon which finished in a distant second, earning $10.8 million, bringing its total to $192 million.

Date Night showed in its fourth weekend, bringing in $7.6 million. That puts the total at almost $74 million for the Tina Fey and Steve Carell comedy.

Widely regarded as a contender for the worst movie of the year, Furry Vengeance debuted this week in fifth place. It earned an estimated $6.5 million.

Out of the top ten, Alice in Wonderland earned Tim Burton another $1.5 million, adding to its stellar $330 million total in its ninth week.
