For the third straight weekend, Shrek Forever After claimed the top spot at the box office, grossing $25.3 million more. It has now grossed an impressive $183 million. Meanwhile, Get Him To The Greek debuted much better than I expected in second, grossing $17.4 million.

Another opening weekend, Killers, was close behind in third, earning $16.1 million.

Down the top ten, Marmaduke and Splice opened with really surprising and lackluster showings in 6th ($11.3 million) and 8th ($7.4 million), respectively. Had you asked me on Friday my predictions, I would have certainly switched these two with Greek and Killers.

In 9th, Robin Hood, the first movie I’ve seen this year, and a reminder of why I don’t go to the movies until at least July, continued to falter in its 4th week. It is not even halfway to covering its $200 million budget. It has earned just over $94 million so far.
