While much of the talk surrounding Wes Anderson this year pertains to his latest, excellent film The Grand Budapest Hotel (our discussion here), next week will mark The Criterion Collection debut of The Life Aquatic. Currently available to pre-order, the release includes commentary from Anderson and Noah Baumbach, a making-of documentary, and much more, but today we have a bonus feature not included on the disc.
Criterion gathered the director, as well as stars Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, and Willem Dafoe to discuss their experience shooting the film. Among the topics discussed are shooting in water, how they went $8 million over budget, and certain grammar arguments. Check it out below, along with Matt Zoller Seitz‘s great video essay on the film made in conjunction with his all-encompassing book.
The Life Aquatic is now available to pre-order ahead of a release next week.
