We posted the teaser last year and now the Ruairi Robinson‘s full-length short has arrived online. Max Records (Where The Wild Things Are, The Brothers Bloom) leads Blinky™, a story about a boy and his increasingly creepy robot. We’ve seen the basic plot before, but Robinson’s high production values and crazy ending makes it worth a watch. You may know Robinson from his work on the live-action Akira script, which has yet to be greenlit. The Irish filmmaker also directed the Oscar-nominated Fifty Percent Grey. Check out the full short below via Quiet Earth.

Soon every home will have a robot helper. Don’t worry. It’s perfectly safe.

What do you think of the short and Robinson’s future in feature filmmaking?
