One of the most refreshingly honest and flat-out hilarious comedies of the year unfortunately won’t be hitting everyone’s local screen, so filmmakers Mike Birbiglia and This American Life‘s Ira Glass have set out to encourage attendance at theaters where their feature debut Sleepwalk With Me will be screening. Since this isn’t some demand it Paranormal Activity 4-esque campaign (a film that will get a wide release regardless) and I’d actually like Birbiglia to get behind the camera again, we’re sharing the video below, which takes a funny look at the duo’s plan to increase attendance. Synopsis:
Based on comedian-turned-playwright-turned-filmmaker Mike Birbiglia’s successful one-man show, SLEEPWALK WITH ME turns passionate and personal storytelling into comic art. Birbiglia directed, co-wrote and stars as a burgeoning stand-up comedian struggling with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship threatening to race out of his control, and the wild spurts of severe sleepwalking he is desperate to ignore.
