While Bong Joon-ho readies his English-language debut for a major release next year, a follow-up to one of his films will also hit theaters. While he’s not behind the camera, director Park Myeong-chan has stepped in for The Host 2, a sequel to the stellar monster movie from 2006 and today we’ve got the first footage. Twitch picked up a video that was uploaded nearly a month ago detailing what looks to be a major action scene from the upcoming film.
We see both the full scene and then a breakdown of the visual effects work by Macrograph, as we follow our monster attacking a truck filled with a family, only to hunt down two children. Just from this look it seems to pack some of the same fun from the first film, but there’s still much more to see before coming to any sort of conclusion. Expect The Host 2 to arrive in theaters next year.
