We have to hand it to the powers at be in Hollywood, as 2013 provided better, more varied insight into the year’s production than we can ever recall. Due to a batch of roundtables, including directors, (times 2) actors and actresses (times 3), producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, breakthrough talents, casting directors, documentary helmers and composers, there’s been hours upon hours worth of useful talks and today brings yet another.
THR has gathered the year’s top animators — well, yours truly would have loved to see Hayao Miyazaki (and his translator) stop by, but we understand he’s a busy man during retirement — including Chris Buck (Frozen), Dan Scanlon (Monsters University), Chris Wedge (Epic), Kristine Belson (producer of The Croods), and Chris Meledandri (producer of Despicable Me 2) for an extended conversation. Among the topics discussed are the extensive development process for their works, casting voice actors, whether or not they consider films like Gravity animated, and much more. Check it out below.
