Fifty years on, thousands upon thousands upon thousands of investigative documents later, so few can truly agree on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Questions of conspiracy, intent, and blame have persisted, the mystery growing all the more elusive as a gap between then and now only expands and relevant parties grow old, forget facts, or die off; that we’ll likely never know, with certainty, what happened on November 22, 1963 is a great mystery in and of itself
So it must be time to watch JFK again. Spotting an opportunity to trot out one of their ’90s classics, Warner Bros. have set up revival screenings of Oliver Stone‘s picture, with the director even hopping on Twitter to announce such an occasion. It goes like so: New York, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. theaters will get the film from November 6 to 14; “some 250+ Cinemark, Regal, and AMC theaters” from the November 17 to 20; and a Blu-ray box set, hopefully called “Going Back and to the Left,” is coming on November 12. Packed with that home video release is a new chapter of Stone‘s The Untold History of the United States, this latest installment investigating potential reasons behind the JFK assassination — as he sees it, at least — along with some other Cold War conspiracy business.
