Screen tests have been completed for Warner Brothers latest super hero film adaption, Green Lantern. What this means according to The Hollywood Reporter, is that the choices for the lead role have already been narrowed down to just three people. Justin Timberlake, Ryan Reynolds, and Bradley Cooper are the men the studio has selected for its final choices. The drama however comes into play as rumors fly that the films director Martin Cambell and producer Donald De Line don’t like any of those choices and want others.
The thing that is most interesting in the studios choices however is that all three of them are almost exclusively known for their comedies. Musician Timberlake, has little acting experience outside of his sketch comedy roles on Saturday Night Live and similar shows. Bradley Cooper has pretty much only starred in sitcoms such as Wedding Crashers, Yes Man, and The Hangover. And lastly, Reynolds, who has only taken roles in sitcoms such as Scrubs and movie roles in comedies like The Proposal. Essentially, the message Warner Brothers is sending across is that Green Lantern is going to be a comedy or at least filled with humor. Either way, reports say that the decision is being pushed and will be made soon. We could know who gets the role as soon as next week.
