Outside of True Grit, Peter Weir‘s The Way Back rounds out my most-anticipated list for the rest of the year. Having fallen in love with everything from Witness to The Truman Show to Master and Commander, the director is one of my all-time favorites. His latest got a little premiere at Telluride and will only hit LA theaters by end the year before going wide in January. The film stars Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess, Saoirse Ronan and you can check out the new domestic trailer below via Yahoo.
Synopsis: Chronicles the escape of a small group of multi-national prisoners from a Siberian gulag in 1940 and their epic life affirming journey over thousands of miles across five hostile countries.
The Way Back hits LA theaters on December 29 and will expand on January 21, 2011.
