It is no surprise many people from the Brazilian blockbuster franchise Elite Squad are going on to do bigger and possibly better things. Its director José Padilha will be headed to Hollywood for the Robocop reboot, while its star Wagner Moura is currently shooting Neill Blomkamp‘s District 9 follow-up Elysium. The sequel to the 2007 film Elite Squad, subtitled The Enemy Within, is famous for outgrossing Avatar in its native country and will finally see a release here in the states.
The action drama, which is Brazil’s Foreign Oscar submission, has its first US trailer and it is simply bad-ass. It sells all the action elements I love about this film with a fast-punch of energy. Synopsis:
