If you like your comic book movies in the R-rated variety — something not even DC’s Suicide Squad will deliver next year — then Deadpool should do the trick. Fox and Marvel’s Ryan Reynolds-led feature will be released just in time for Valentine’s Day, but today they are capitalizing on other holiday with all-new red band and green band trailers to unwrap.
With a script by Zombieland duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, and direction from newcomer Tim Miller, the story follows our anti-hero character, former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson. Also starring Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, check out the trailers below.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool opens on February 12th, 2016.
