America may still hate Mel Gibson, but the UK is welcoming him with open arms early next year. After an early promo poster was uncovered at American Film Market this week, Jodie Foster‘s The Beaver has now been given a February 11, 2011 release via Icon. This pits it against Black Swan, Just Go With It, No Strings Attached and Yogi Bear. [Digital Spy via Vulture]

The drama/comedy also stars Foster, Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence. The plot is described as “a guy walks around with a puppet of a beaver on his hand and treats it like a living creature.” Summit Entertainment is the US distributor and they have no plans yet, but rumor is it may go straight-to-DVD.

Are you going to fly to the UK to see The Beaver, and if you are there already, will you see it?
