The U.S. trailer for French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s new film, Micmacs has been released in anticipation of its May 28 limited release. Micmacs has been impressing audiences around the world since its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last year. It was most recently shown at SXSW where it was received favorably, as it has been through film festival run.
Micmacs follows the story of Bazil (Dany Boon) whose life has been terrorized by two competing weapons manufacturers. First there was the landmine that killed his father then the bullet that is lodged in his brain threatening to take his life any second. After his release from the hospital after his gunshot injury, Bazil finds himself homeless and jobless and with a score to settle. He enlists the help of a gang of misifts with an amazing talent pool. A whimsical tale of revenge ensues.

The screenplay was co-written by Jeunet and Oscar nominated screenwriter Guillaume Laurant, who also collaborated on City of Lost Children, Amélie, and A Very Long Engagement previously.
