This morning at 11am EST, a new interactive Tron Legacy website called Zero Hour went live that involves you participating in an anonymous rendez-vous with a Flynn Lives contact in participating city locations.
If you live in one of these cities – Sydney, Denver, Madrid, Paris, Boston, Washington DC, Orlando, Atlanta, Raleigh, San Diego, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Austin, Minneapolis, Nashville, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix and London – you can participate in the search to find Kevin Flynn. Says the site: “We are deploying envoys to 27 locations around the world and we need you to meet up with the Flynn Lives contact in your area. Check the link below to find out when and where this rendezvous will take place. Then, get ready to hit the streets.” Source Joblo
Sounds like an innovative bit of viral marketing aimed at the popularity of ARG (alternative reality gaming) and are ripe for social geotagging services such as Foursquare and Gowalla. I mean how cool would it be to check in somewhere saying that you’ve successfully met up with Kevin Flynn!
Tron: Legacy hits theaters in December.
