If something feels a bit off this Halloween, it might not just be your scary surroundings. For the first time in four years, Paramount will not release a new Paranormal Activity. Instead, they’ve opted to hold off the fifth entry into the series for next October and this January, we’ll be getting their Latino spin-off, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.
Directed by Christopher Landon, the first trailer has landed today, after being briefly teased after the credits in the last film, which features the scares you might expect, with some body horror thrown in. That won’t be the only found-footage horror film coming this January, however, as we’ve also got our first look at Devil’s Due. Coming from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (who delivered the “10/31/98” segment in V/H/S), the film features a couple expecting a devilish treat and the trailer can also be seen below.
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones arrives on January 3rd, while Devil’s Due lands on January 17th.
