In between his indie drama Red Hook Summer and his blockbuster Oldboy, Spike Lee has explored a brief period of time in the career of one of entertainment’s most influential icons. After a fall festival debut, we’re finally going to get a look at his documentary on Michael Jackson, called Bad 25.
We’ve got the first, brief trailer for the film today, which is set to get a Oscar-qualifying theatrical run next week before a ABC debut. Chronicling the making of the aforementioned album of the late pop icon, the project features interviews from Martin Scorsese, director of the Bad music video, as well with tons of other crew members, and even outsiders like Kanye West, Questlove, Sheryl Crow, Cee Lo Green and Mariah Carey. Check out the trailer below, along with a new poster.
Bad 25 hits theaters for one week in New York on October 19th and the following week on October 26th in Los Angeles before a Thanksgiving Day TV debut on ABC.
