Like the mysterious Cloverfield trailer before Transformers, we will be seeing a glimpse at another secret J.J. Abrams project before Iron Man 2. HitFix has the scoop that the project is titled Super 8. It is produced by Abrams, but the teaser before Iron Man 2 will be directed by him.
It is rumored to be a sequel to Cloverfield and the prints for the trailer “come with a final reel locked in a film canister that has a coded electronic lock on it.” It can’t be open until Thursday afternoon, right before the first Iron Man screenings. Check out a screenshot below.
Cloverfield, and the way it was marketed, was one of the greatest things seen in the last decade. I’m all for Abrams and can’t wait to see the trailer this weekend. With this trailer and a new Inception one, the previews could be better than the film itself.
