Veteran horror filmmaker Joe Dante, who directed films such as Gremlins, The Howling, Innerspace, and The Burbs, made a film last year titled The Hole that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. It is Dante‘s first directorial effort since 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and it has some decent word-of-mouth surrounding it.

Peter Sciretta over at /Film calls it “a tame but fun throwback to the PG-13 horror movies from my childhood.” Another thing the film has going for it is the fact that it was filmed in 3D, not simply post-converted like Clash of the Titans and many other recent films. However, despite these positives, the film remains without a distributor or a release date.
