British actor Toby Jones has been cast in Joe Johnston‘s upcoming Captain America film. /Film is reporting that the character actor will take on the role of evil scientist Arnim Zola in the comic book adaptation. Jones joins Chris Evans as the title character and Hugo Weaving who plays the main villain, Red Skull.
Jones is best known for his supporting roles in films such as Frost/Nixon, The Painted Veil and W. The actor also portrayed Truman Capote in the second of the two films on the flamboyant author, Infamous. Although his film wasn’t as well received as the Philip Seymor Hoffman led Capote, his performance is as good if not better than his Oscar winning counterpart’s.
Captain America: The First Avenger is expected to hit theaters next summer.
