Following our first teaser trailer earlier this month, the filmmakers behind The World’s End are wasting no time providing new material for what’s easily one of our most-anticipated movies of the summer. Six years after Hot Fuzz and nearly a decade following Shaun of the Dead, Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost have concluded their Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy with this film and we’ve got two new posters today. One comes from the U.S. and the other from the UK, both featuring our main gang as we see our protagonists behind them. Check them out below and a new still above and return for the full-length trailer later this week.
Synopsis:
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
Also starring Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and Rosamund Pike, The World’s End will open in the U.K. on July 19th, followed by a U.S. release on August 23.
