Rachel McAdams may have starred in such fine films as Red Eye, State of Play, and the upcoming Terrence Malick project, while Channing Tatum has proved he isn’t just a stud in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Public Enemies, and likely his upcoming Steven Soderbergh project, but for The Vow, these two are riding on nothing but their previous romantic drama acclaim. The trailer does not shy away from the fact, highlighting their roles in The Notebook and Dear John, respectively.

Directed by Michael Sucsy, of Grey Gardens HBO fame, this marks his feature directorial debut. Reminiscent of a recent, devastating RadioLab podcast I heard, The Vow looks like it will hit that sweet spot for fans of the genre. The only disappointment stems from Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein‘s involvement, who previously gave us Valentine’s Day and He’s Just Not That Into You. Also starring Sam Neill, Scott Speedman, Wendy Crewson, Jessica Lange, one can see the trailer below via Apple.

Synopsis:

A newlywed couple recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband endeavors to win her heart again.

The Vow hits February 10th, 2012.
