Heralded director Bertrand Tavernier has compiled a cast of French luminaries for his new period piece romance The Princess of Montpensier. Starring Melanie Thierry (Babylon A.D.) as a princess trapped in an arranged marriage, the drama co-stars Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet (Love Songs) as her pining husband, Gaspard Ulliel (A Very Long Engagement) as her roguish lover, and Lambert Wilson (Of Gods and Men) as her besotted tutor.

Fittingly, the just-released poster teases the beginnings of this twisted tale of love and betrayal.

The Princess of Montpensier will open in the US on April 15th, 2011.
