The trailer for the newest Anchorman and Step Brothers director Adam McKay has been released via Yahoo. The Other Guys stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson and Steve Coogan. After just seeing Date Night, Mark Wahlberg definitely has the comedic chops to entertain. He is one of the funniest parts in the film, which is one of the biggest surprises of the year. I loved every second of it. As for The Other Guys, I was going to compare it to Cop Out with actual laughs, but this film looks like it has much more going for it than that. Check it out below.
Plot: Detective Allen Gamble is a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets. Detective Terry Hoitz is a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith, but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.
The Other Guys hits theaters August 6th.
