Austinites know by now if there is a major music event in their city, Terrence Malick and crew is sure to show up. Fun Fun Fun Fest was no exception and aside from the Lizardman himself showing up on set, last night brought perhaps the oddest moment yet in production. Joining Malick, Michael Fassbender and Rooney Mara on stage during a Black Lips set was none other than Val Kilmer. Sporting a chainsaw and a buck knife, the actor proceeded to cut off his own curls, as well as sing a song with Mara (who he introduces as Miley Cyrus) and cause a general ruckus.
For those curious, Malick and his cameras were indeed capturing every moment so we can only hope Kilmer makes it into the final product, whatever that may be. Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Cate Blanchett, Benicio Del Toro, Boyd Holbrook, Berenice Marlohe and Holly Hunter also star in the story following two intersecting love triangles exploring sexual obsession and betrayal set against the music scene in Austin, Texas. Check out videos of Kilmer on stage below (with Malick showing up in the second), as well as some pictures of the aftermath.
