Before he tackles The Crow reboot, with Bradley Cooper possibly taking the lead, 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will release his latest horror film Intruders. Clive Owen (Inside Man, Children of Men) takes an interesting career turn, joined by Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds).

Empire has the first creepy teaser, which can be seen below. After the success of Insidious, it’s refreshing to see a horror film not relying on gore. Under Fresnadillo’s smart direction this looks to deliver just what the genre needs.

The story follows an 11-year old girl forced to confront childhood demons. Owen plays the girl’s father and Bruhl is a young priest.

Intruders hits theaters October 7th, 2011.
