After getting his big break in 2011 with J.J. Abrams‘ Super 8, Ryan Lee is seeing himself in some big times roles nowadays. According to Variety, the young actor has been cast alongside The DescendantsNick Krause for the upcoming teen drama, White Rabbit.

Written by Anthony Di Pietro, and directed by Tim McCann, the picture “follows a high school teen (Krause) who begins having visions of a rabbit that he killed when he was a young boy. The rabbit, along with other imaginary characters, turn menacing in the hopes of pushing him over the edge and luring the bully into one last fatal act of revenge.” Robert Yocum of Burning Sky Films, Shaun Sanghani and Jacky Morgan will all be producing the indie.

Lee will be playing Krause‘s best friend, with True Blood star, Sam Trammell, playing the lead’s father. Since Super 8, the 16-year-old played a role in this year’s Meeting Evil, alongside Luke Wilson and Samuel L. Jackson. Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of J.J. Abrams‘ blockbuster, Lee showed solid  acting potential and it sounds like he is on the right Hollywood path.

As for upcoming releases, Lee will be seen in Judd Apatow‘s forthcoming directorial effort, This is 40, of which he plays Melissa McCarthy‘s son and love interest to Maude Apatow‘s character.
