The cast for Allen Hughes‘ directorial debut Broken City just keeps growing and growing, with Kyle Chandler being the latest addition to the already star-studded cast. Chandler will join Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the political thriller written by Brian Tucker. [Variety]
Wahlberg will star as a Gotham detective who has been hired by a powerful politician (Crowe) to identify if his wife (Zeta-Jones) is cheating on him. Barry Pepper has also been cast as a mayoral candidate, with Chandler playing his political team’s right-hand-man. Jeffrey Wright, Griffin Dunne, James Ransone, Justin Chambers, Natalie Martinez and Alona Tal have been cast in various roles as well.
Chandler has been making his way to the big screen in recent years with his roles in J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 this past summer and Ben Affleck‘s Argo due out sometime next year, but with City it is is unlikely he’ll have as big of a part, next to names like Crowe, Walhberg and Zeta-Jones.
Broken City will hit theaters on January 8th, 2013.
What do you think of Chandler? Is he a good addition to Broken City?
