After a set of posters, it has finally arrived. The first footage of Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming motion-capture blockbuster The Adventures of Tintin is here in the form of a teaser trailer. The film is based on the Tintin series of graphic novels written and drawn by renowned Belgian cartoonist Georges Prosper Remi better know as Hergé. The action adventure features Jamie Bell as Tintin, who co-stars with CG expert Andy Serkis (also coming back for The Hobbit), as well as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who will be playing the two bumbling detectives Thompson and Thompson. Daniel Craig, Cary Elwes, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook and Daniel Mays are also in the film, scripted by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish (who recently directed Attack the Block).

The trailer definitely has more of a children’s vibe to it, after all, Nickelodeon movies is part of the production. I think the style looks wonderful, but I’m afraid many moviegoers have been burnt out by Robert Zemeckis‘ over-use of the style in his mo-cap features. Let’s hope this one can overcome the uncanny valley. Check out the trailer below via Apple.
