Avatar and Star Trek star Zoe Saldana recently spoke to MTV about her upcoming films, including the follow up to this year’s summer hit, J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.
I spoke to J.J. and Bryan Burk, his producing partner at Bad Robot, and they are still in the middle of building the script with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and we’ll probably be going into pre-production around this time next year.
We recently reported that J.J. Abrams said it’s not likely to see a sequel to Star Trek before 2012 and it’s rumored that he is even working on a new mystery project before that. I’d obviously trust the director or producer before listening to an actor on when the project is getting started, but this is good news nonetheless. After rewatching Star Trek many times on Blu-ray, it’s shot up to one of my favorites of the year.
